
Sheetla Mata is the oldest and eldest among all Goddesses in the world. Though they are seven real sisters who are worshipped altogether but Sheetla Mata says that all the Goddesses in this world are her sisters. She loves and respects all of them.
Who is Sheetla Mata
She is the incarnation of Mata Parvati (Aadi-Shakti and the power of Lord Shiva) in the beginning of this creation to kill the demon “jwarasur” who was doing cruelty with the human beings as well as Gods of Heaven. It was creating obstacles in the welfare of the creation. So, Goddess Parvati took incarnation as an old lady with white hair, broom in her hand and sitting on the Donkey. This formation of Goddess is known as Sheetla Mata.
Seven Sisters
Seven sisters including Sheetla Mata are are Mata Sheetla Devi, Mata Mashani, Mata Kalka, Mata Durga, Mata Lakshmi, Mata Saraswati and Mata Buddho. All these Goddesses are real sisters. Mata Sheetla and Mata Mashani are always jointly-worshipped.
The temple of Sheetla Mata
Though there are many temples of Mata in India but one of the most famous temples of Sheetla Mata is in Gurugram (formerly known as Gurgaon) in Haryana. The nearest Metro Stations are Huda City Centre and IFFCO chowk as well. You can easily get Auto rikshaw from there which will take you to Sheetla Mata Mandir in Old Gurugram, quite near to Delhi.
